Hi ladies! Well, after writing the post about the jewelry at the Lanvin 2012 Fall Collection held in Paris, (read here) and after being transported back into the era of Victorian fashion and romance, one style I couldn’t help but look for is: the cameo. For me, cameos are and will always be, a classic piece. Those who are romantic at heart will inevitably have a cameo piece in their jewelry collection (I do!).
As I went about researching, I wanted to know whether this style is still present nowadays, and though I’ve found just a few pieces of cameo here and there, I wasn’t disappointed!
Twilight star Kellan Lutz was spotted with his model/actress girlfriend Aussie Sharni Vinson at Sydney Airport in Australia yesterday, March 29, 2012. As we can see from the photo, Sharni was wearing a delightful and striking cameo necklace that I think went quite well with her ensemble. Her cameo added just a hint of color to her otherwise monochromatic outfit.
Cameo jewelry are best worn alone, as a cameo is already a focal piece, so mixing it with other jewelry can be already overwhelming. As a classic piece, I don’t think this style will ever disappear in the fashion world, and I expect quite a comeback of this style in the coming months. Have you seen the Lanvin Fall Collection? With their emphasis on opulent and glamorous jewelry that harks back to the Victorian Era, expect Fall jewelry trends to follow suit, and cameos won’t be too far away in coming.
For now, I’ve searched the Web for these classic beauties to tide me over til then, and here they are:
